CHILDREN CHOIR ANNIVERSARY

The St. Joseph Church Children Choir celebrated its 11 th Anniversary with a Mass of Thanksgiving and breakfast on November 19. Fr. Louis Kemayou celebrated the Mass.
At the breakfast, Laurie Thomas-Jacobs, Choir Director, presented Certificates of Appreciation to individuals who assisted the choir with its activities during program year September 2005-June 2006. Certificates of Recognition also were presented to those children who left the choir during the previous program year.
Former choir member Theresa Durand was given a $100 gift certificate from Education Central. Ms. Durand was helpful in ensuring that the members were ready for practice and well-behaved during performances, and assisted the younger members when they went across the parking lot to the restrooms.
Parishioner Ivy Martinez was honored as the person of the year. She was especially instrumental in helping the choir raise money through its Sunday morning breakfasts when it was preparing to travel to St. Thomas in 2004.
