BAPTISM IN THE FILIPINO COMMUNITY

BIBLE STUDY  

 The Bible Study Group at Light of Christ Retreat Center on St. Croix studied Colossians in December. The group invites Catholics to join them on Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.

 

MAGNIFICAT MINI-TEA

 Magnificat Ministries invites Catholic women to a "mini-tea" at Franciscan House on St. Croix on the third Sunday of each month at 3:00 p.m. Pictured above, Ednita Emmanuel gave a witness talk on December 16.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Over 8,000 Catholic Schools in the United States, including the four Catholic schools in the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, will celebrate Catholic Schools Week 2008 from Sunday, January 27, to Saturday, February 2. This year's theme is "Catholic Schools Light the Way."

 

AUCTION WILL RAISE FUNDS FOR SCHOOL HALL

St. Mary School on St. Croix will hold its annual fundraising dinner and auction at the Divi Carina Bay Ballroom on Saturday, February 2. Cocktails will be served at 6:00 p.m., dinner at 7:00 p.m.

Donations of furniture, jewelry, art, small appliances, home decorations and more are requested for the silent and live bidding. Trips to Sun Valley, New York, Mackinac Island and more also will be among the items auctioned.

The theme this year is "Happy Birthday, Baby" as the school celebrates its 110th year. Dinner tickets are available for $75 at Holy Cross Church and St. Mary School.

This year's monies will go toward scholarships and renovations to the school hall. Students would use the venue for drama presentations, music programs, film activities, science fairs, student displays and guest speakers.
