Parishioners of Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral on St. Thomas were blessed with a relic of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton on her memorial, January 4. The saint founded the religious community she called the Sisters of Charity 200 years ago, and one later branch, the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth, has ministered at Ss. Peter and Paul School on St. Thomas for the past 75 years.

PRIEST HELPS THE NEEDY IN ITALY
Fr. Jose Herrera, former pastor of St. Joseph Church on St. Croix and now the Catholic chaplain for the U.S. Army garrison in Vicenza, Italy, was featured on the front page of the military newspaper The Outlook. Through the international charitable organization Caritas, he and other American soldiers collected and donated food and supplies to the poor of the community, particularly African immigrants.
