PATRONAL FEAST OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Nearly 200 Hispanics on St. Thomas honored Our Lady of Altagracia, Patroness of the Dominican Republic, on January 18. The celebration consisted of a procession through the streets of Charlotte Amalie, Spanish Mass at Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral and a reception in the parish’s Hospitality Lounge. Pictured left, acolyte Eddie Rivera led with a processional cross followed by four men carrying the image and parishioners singing and waving banners.

Altagracia, Patrona de la República Dominicana, el 18 de enero.
La celebración comenzó con una procesión por las
calles y continuó con Misa en español en la Catedral San
Pedro y San Pablo y una recepción en el Salón Social de
la parroquia. Retratado arriba, Eddie Rivera, acólito, llevando
la cruz procesional, fue seguido por cuatro hombres cargando la carroza
con el imagen de la virgen y feligreses cantando detrás.
THE MAGI VISIT ON THE FEAST OF THE EPIPHANY
A tradition at Spanish Masses worldwide, the Three Kings (pictured above) were in the procession at the beginning of the Epiphany Mass at St. Joseph Church on St. Croix. Pictured right, the magi came bearing gifts for the baby Jesus and, after Mass, candies for all the children at Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral on St. Thomas on January 4.
LA VISITA DE LOS TRES REYES MAGOS EN LA EPIPHANIA
Retratado a la izquierda, los tres reyes estaban en la procesión al comienzo de la Misa en español en la Iglesia San José en Sta. Cruz el día de la Epifanía, el 4 de enero. Retratado arriba, los magos trajeron regales para el niño Jesús y después de la Misa, regalaron dulces a todos los niños en la Catedral San Pedro y San Pablo en Sto. Tomás.
