MSGR. MICHAEL KOSAK ELECTED AS DIOCESAN ADMINISTRATOR UNTIL A NEW BISHOP IS APPOINTED BY THE HOLY SEE   

Msgr. Michael Kosak; Ordained June 6, 1970; Prelate of Honor March 13, 1989

The Consulters of the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands elected Msgr. Michael Kosak as Diocesan Administrator until a new bishop is appointed by the Holy See. Msgr. Kosak, informally known as "Fr. Mike", is the Pastor of St. Ann's Catholic Church on Barrenspot Hill of St. Croix and has held that position for 31years. On the St. Ann's Website, Msgr. Kosak has written " The parish of St. Ann's and the people of the Virgin Islands have been the greatest blessing in my life."

Msgr. Kosak was born in Brooklyn, New York and spent his earlier years of education in that area and then spent several years with th U.S.Marines. After spending some time in the field of Public relations with the Title Guarantee & Co. in New York, serving as a counselor at St. John's Home in New York, and completing more studies at St. Mary's College in Kentucky, Msgr. Kosak went on to St. Mary's Seminary and University in Baltimore, Maryland where he earned and a Master of Divinity degree and soon was ordained to be the first diocesan priest for the Prelature of the Virgin Islands by the Bishop of the Virgin Islands, the Most Rev.
