PRO-LIFE PRAYER VIGILS

The Pro-Life Ministry based at Holy Cross Church on St. Croix now has a third location where they meet to pray on the second Tuesday of each month. The group stands outside abortion clinics to pray for the unborn and for an end to abortions.

The ministry prayed at its new location, the abortion clinic at Barrenspot Mall, on February 12. Participants will pray outside the clinic across from Island Center on March 11 at 5:00 p.m. and outside the clinic at Beeston Hill on April 8 at 10:00 a.m. The rotation between the three clinics is ongoing.

 

WOMEN'S SPIRITUALITY

The Women's Spirituality Series continues in the McAlpin Hall of Holy Cross Church on St. Croix on Saturday, March 15, at 9:30 a.m. Peggy Meyer will be the speaker.

 

PALM SUNDAY SONG FEST

Holy Family Church on St. Thomas will present a Palm Sunday Song Fest at Columban Hall on Sunday, March 16, at 5:00 p.m. The concert will feature choirs from various St. Thomas churches.

 

PRAYER VIGIL

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on St. Thomas will host a 12-hour prayer vigil with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament beginning Sunday, March 9, at noon. Priests will be available to hear confessions.

 

SOLEMNITY MASSES

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on St. Thomas will add two Masses to celebrate solemnities in March. A Mass will celebrate the Feast of St. Joseph on Saturday, March 15, at 7:30 a.m. A Mass to celebrate the feast of the Annunciation will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m.

 

LENTEN TALKS

Deacon David Capriola leads talks on the Sacrament of Reconciliation at Holy Cross Church on St. Croix on Fridays of Lent at 6:30 p.m. Stations of the Cross follow.

 

SOUP AND BREAD SUPPERS

As penance during Fridays in Lent, Catholics on St. Croix are invited to forego their usual supper and instead come to St. Joseph Church to share free homemade soup, bread and fellowship. The suppers begin at 7:30 p.m.

EASTER BRUNCH

The St. Joseph Workers of Holy Family Church on St. Thomas will present the third annual Easter brunch at Columban Hall on Sunday, March 23, after the 10:00 a.m. Mass. Tickets are available for a donation of $35 for adults and $25 for children under 12.

 

TRIDENTINE LATIN MASS

Fr. Pat Lynch, CSsR, Pastor of Holy Cross Church on St. Croix, will celebrate a Tridentine Latin Mass on Sunday, March 9, at 11:00 a.m. The parish choir will sing the Missa De Angelis, VIII mode, which includes the Kyrie, Sanctus and Agnus Dei.

 

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY

Parishes will celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday on March 30 by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

On St. Thomas, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church will begin with confessions at 2:30 p.m., followed by the Divine Mercy Chaplet at 3:00 p.m. and a social afterwards in the parish clubhouse.

On St. Croix, the chaplet will be chanted at St. Ann Church at 3:00 p.m., followed by a teaching and Benediction. The chaplet will be prayed at St. Joseph Church at 4:00 p.m.
