SPECIAL REPORT: PALM SUNDAY

An ecumenical Palm Sunday procession on St. Thomas mixed believers of many Christian faiths until the Catholics turn on Main Street to march to Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral.

Fr. Charles Crespo blessed palms outside the rectory door at St. Anne Chapel prior to the Saturday Vigil procession. After the distribution of palms to the faithful gathered for the blessing, all entered the church in procession, singing the opening hymn and recalling Jesus' final entrance into Jerusalem before his death.

Fr. John McLoughlin, Pastor of St. Patrick Church on St. Croix, rode a donkey in the ecumenical Palm Sunday procession.

Fr. Louis Kemayou, Administrator of St. Joseph Church on St. Croix, blessed palms outside the parish Youth Center to begin the Palm Sunday procession before Mass.

Holy Family Church on St. Thomas hosted its annual Choir Fest on Palm Sunday evening. Pictured above, the Holy Family Church Youth Choir was among the ensembles and soloists that ministered in the program.
