FR. OPIRA APPOINTED CHAPLAIN
Bishop George Murry, SJ, has appointed Fr. Simon Peter Opira as chaplain to both the West Indian Franciscans and the Diocesan Center of Evangelization at the Light of Christ Retreat Center, effective April 14.
Fr. Opira will remain in residence at St. Ann Church on St. Croix.
FR.KEMAYOU INCARDINATED
Bishop George Murry, SJ, has incardinated Fr. Louis Kemayou, Parochial Vicar at St. Ann Church on St. Croix, into the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands, effective April 11. Fr. Kemayou came to the diocese in 2001 as a priest of the Diocese of Doume Abong'Mbang in his native Cameroon, Africa. By excardination from that diocese and incardination to his new diocese, Fr. Kemayou officially becomes a priest of his new diocese, under the jurisdiction of Bishop Murry and his successors.
PRINCIPAL APPOINTED
Bishop George Murry, SJ, has appointed Elizabeth Hering as Principal of St. Mary School on St. Croix, effective June 15.
Mrs. Hering has served as Administrator of the school since 2004, while Fr. Pat Lynch, CSsR, served dually as the Pastor of Holy Cross Church and the Principal of St. Mary School.
Fr. Lynch will continue as the pastor while Ms. Hering assumes the full responsibilities of the principal.
