EVANGELIZATION OFFICE SETS GOALS
Parish representatives met in March on St. Thomas and St. Croix to help chart the course of the diocesan Office of Evangelization, led by Sr. Patricia Alexander, WIF. In order for all to come to "a knowledge and a personal loving relationship with Jesus Christ," five clear objectives were decided: basic evangelization formation for parish teams; formation for lay leaders and potential leaders; the nurturing of the Catholic identity; techniques for witnessing; the establishment of parish intercessory teams. The Zion Community's Gethsemane Institute in Trinidad now will prepare to meet these needs and set dates to teach corresponding courses at the Light of Christ Retreat House on St. Croix and a similar location on St. Thomas.
