St. Joseph Catholic Church on St. Croix sponsored a Singspiration concert in the Hospitality Lounge and Learning Center on April 29. The concert featured the parish's Spanish Choir, The Angelic Voices Choir and the Children Choir, as well as the choir from Holy Cross Church. Fr. Fr. John Theodore and Mary Baptiste of the Association of Catholic Intercessors (ACI) in Trinidad and Tobago will lead an all-day workshop on the ministry of intercessory prayer at Light of Christ Retreat Center on St. Croix on Saturday, June 2, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
ACI is a fraternity of persons committed to
growing in prayer for otherss. ACI grew out of Zion R.C. Community.
Zion’s founders experienced a call from God to "build a house of
prayer." Later, God’s call was clarified as the building of a
people of prayer. ACI was formally organized and launched in 1993
with the approval of Most Reverend Anthony Pantin, then bishop of
Trinidad and Tobago.
The St. Joseph Workers of Holy Family Church on
St. Thomas will honor four fathers with a Fathers Day luncheon at
Columban Hall on Sunday, June 17, at 1:00 p.m. the honorees are
Claudy Brutus, Allan Harrington and Fred Hintz of Holy Family Church
and Benedict Regis of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Tickets are
available at the parish for $35 for adults and $25 for children.
Two churches on St. Croix will have Eucharistic
processions for the feast of Corpus Christi. Holy Cross Church will
have its annual procession on Saturday, June 9, after the 6:00 p.m.
Mass. St. Joseph Church will have its annual bilingual procession on
Sunday, June 10, at 11:45 a.m.
Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral on St. Thomas will
celebrate its patronal feast on Saturday, June 30, with a dinner
dance at the Marriot Frenchman’s Reef Hotel. Parishioners Sr.
Louis Marie Bryan, SC, Leroy and Gerda Gottlieb and Altagracia Wenner
will be honored. Milo’s Kings will perform. The celebration
begins with cocktails and a silent auction at 6:00 p.m. Tickets are
available at the parish office for $100.
Bishop Elliott Thomas will confer the sacrament
of Confirmation on all St. Thomas candidates at a special Mass at
Holy Family Church on Sunday, June 3, at 3:00 p.m. On St. John, he
will confirm candidates at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Saturday,
June 9, at the 6:00 a.m. Mass.
