YOUTH MINISTRY

Nigel Noel, Youth Minister at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on St. John, announced to parishioners the launching of a Sunday evening Youth Ministry.

Members of the Emergency Medical Services, including Medical Director Dr. Selwyn Mahon, celebrated EMS Week by attending Sunday Mass at Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral on St. Thomas on May 14.

Members of the music ministry at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on St. John meet on Wednesday evenings to pray, study scripture and practice hymns for the Sunday Mass.

FIRST FRIDAY HOLY HOUR

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church has a bilingual Holy Hour with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and Benediction on July 7 and all First Fridays after the 7:00 p.m. Mass.

PATRONAL FEAST

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church celebrates its feast day on Sunday, July 16. The 9:30 a.m. Mass will start with the praying of the rosary, a mini-concert of Marian hymns led by the music ministry, and a crowning of the image of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. The Mass will be followed by a reception in the Guadalupe Hall.

LEADERSHIP CONFERENCES

Mary Baptiste of the Gethsemane Institute in Trinidad will lead youth and adults in a leadership mission at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on July 17-23. The conferences will focus on the role of evangelization and catechesis in daily ministry, and empowering lay ministers to more effectively bring Christ into the home, the church and the world. The youth sessions will be at 10:00 a.m. and the adult sessions will be at 7:00 p.m.

VINCENTIAN SPIRITUALITY

The St. Vincent de Paul Society meets at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Sunday, June 25, after the 9:30 a.m. Mass.

HEALING MASSES

A priest lays on hands for physical, spiritual, emotional and psychological healing at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Fridays at the 8:30 a.m. Mass. On First Fridays, that Mass is at 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

CHARISMATIC PRAYER

Charismatic prayer meetings are held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m.

LEGION OF MARY

Presidium Mary, Queen of Angels, meets at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on Saturdays at 7:30 p.m.

BREAKFAST WITH THE PASTOR

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church hosts a pot luck breakfast on July 7 and all First Fridays after the 7:00 a.m. Mass.
