The youth of Holy Family Church on St. Thomas attended the Youth Choir Award Ceremony at Columban Hall on June 2.
One week after they received their First Holy Communion, some of the children of St. Ann Church on St. Croix made a surprise visit to their former Associate Pastor, Fr. Louis Kemayou, now Administrator of St. Joseph Church, on June 10.
Deacons and deacon candidates serving the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands and their wives will take their annual retreat on July 20-22 at Light of Christ Retreat Center on St. Croix. Fr. John Mark, Diocesan Director of the Diaconate Ministry, will direct the conferences.
Holy Family Church on St. Thomas will be celebrating its 60th annual Our Lady of Cassi Hill pilgrimage with a procession, Mass and benediction. The pilgrimage on Sunday, August 12, begins with a procession from Four Winds Plaza beginning at 2:30 p.m. Upon arrival at the church, Mass will begin. Benediction follows at the adjacent Our Lady of Cassi Hill Shrine.
Life is a long journey. It is fraught with many ups and downs. We have good times and bad times. There are many obstacles on the road as we endeavor to reach out for our God, but we have to pass through it all. Many things would be easier though if we had a spiritual companion with whom we could share the happenings.
A spiritual companion, commonly called a spiritual director, helps you face the obstacles and even to see them coming. A spiritual director aids you as you pass the various stages of prayer on the way. A spiritual director helps you face your own personal demons and conquer them. He or she wants you to grow through your trials and sufferings even as Jesus did.
