BISHOP TO MEET WITH RELIGIOUS

Bishop George Murry, SJ, will thank the members of religious communities serving in the Diocese of St. Thomas in the Virgin Islands at their annual meeting on Saturday, September 9, at the Blessed Peter Donders Residence on St. Croix.

The Sisters of Charity of St.

Elizabeth serve on St. Thomas. The Redemptorists, Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, Dominican Daughters of the Immaculate Mother, Missionaries of Charity, Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Sisters of the Good Shepherd and West Inidan Franciscans serve on St. Croix.

Bishop Murry will listen to their concerns and ask how the diocese can better assist them in carrying out their ministries.

HOMECOMING MASS

Bishop George Murry, SJ, will be the principal celebrant and homilist at the annual Homecoming Mass at St. Bartholomew Church in Camden, New Jersey, on Sunday, September 24. St. Batholomew Church was Bishop Murry's home parish; he also attended elementary school there.

BISHOP WRAPS 2006 APPEAL

Bishop George Murry, SJ, announced a successful conclusion to the Bishop's Appeal 2006, which by September 5 had generated $454,000, surpassing its goal of $425,000. These funds bring immediate support to the ministries of Catholic Charities of the Virgin Islands and the four Catholic Schools in the diocese.

BENEDICTION

Bishop George Murry, SJ, lifted the monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament as benediction concluded the pilgrimage to the Our Lady of Cassi Hill Shrine on St. Thomas on August 20.
