FATIMA PROCESSION

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and the World Apostolate of Our Lady of Fatima on St. Thomas celebrated the feast day of Our Lady of Fatima with Mass, candlelight procession and benediction on October 13.

 

 EXPANDED HOSPITAL MINISTRY

Ss. Peter and Paul Cathedral on St. Thomas has expanded its bedside ministry in the Schneider Regional Medical Center to now include the celebration of Communion Services for patients, families and employees at the All Faiths Chapel on Wednesdays at 5:00 p.m. Outreach volunteers are sought to serve as lectors, song leaders and caregivers, helping patients reach the chapel.

PARISH EXPANDS SACRAMENTAL OPPORTUNITIES

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church on St. Thomas now offers an additional weekday Mass and more opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Mass is now celebrated on First Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. In addition, a priest will be available to hear confessions on Wednesdays at 5:45-6:25 p.m., Saturdays at 5:30-6:15 p.m. and Sundays at 8:00-8:45 a.m.

CARING FOR THE NEEDY AT THANKSGIVING

On Thanksgiving Day, November 22, several parishes in the diocese will have a blessing of bread and other foods at morning Masses and then prepare meals for the needy.

The Missionaries of Charity and volunteers at Holy Cross Church on St. Croix will prepare and distribute as many as 700 meals for the poor. Some of the guests will eat at the St. Mary School cafeteria, but most will be treated to home deliveries.

Over 200 tourists, employees from neighboring businesses and Cruz Bay's homeless will be invited to sit with the parishioners of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church on St. John at a community meal in the Guadalupe Hall beginning at noon.

 

THANKSGIVING RAFFLE

St. Patrick Church on St. Croix launched its annual Thanksgiving Raffle. The first prize is $7,000. Tickets are $5 each, or $50 for a book of 12 tickets. The drawing will take place at the Grand Thanksgiving Raffle Drawing and Quadrille Dance at St. Gerard Hall on Friday, November 23, which begins at 10:00 p.m.
